Your job is to give clear instructions on what dish you want to prepare. The better and more specific your instructions are, the more likely your assistant chef will understand and create a dish that matches your vision.

Just as a chef needs to clearly communicate a recipe, you need to clearly communicate your vision to the AI in your prompts. Choose the right word, avoid misinterpretation. Each word in your prompt is an ingredient for your artwork - so choose your words wisely.
Prompt Precisely
A more detailed and precise prompt is necessary if you want more control over the outcome. Imagine and describe every key aspect of the scene you want to create. The more specific you are, the closer the AI's output will be to your mental image.

Giving Midjourney a specific number to work with leads to a more defined image composition.
Prompt example: "library in a thick and misty jungle" vs "library in a jungle"
"Thick and misty jungle" evokes a more vivid scene than a mere "jungle." It can guide the AI to add dense foliage and a foggy atmosphere.

Use shot angles to suggest a different perspective and detail level than a generic image. Here are three different shot angles we apply on our main subject.

... But Also Balance Creativity and Precision

Sidenote: Interestingly, although we are writing these prompts, grammar is less relevant than you might think. Midjourney's AI focuses more on keywords and descriptive terms. Grammatical accuracy is secondary.

Thematic prompting is an approach that revolves around building prompts around specific themes or concepts. Thematic prompting uses elements of a chosen theme, such as historical, futuristic, fantastical, etc.
If you've heard the phrase "a picture tells a thousand words," it was probably crafted with thematic prompting in mind. It lets you transport viewers to different times, places, or conceptual worlds. Think of things like graphic novels and concept art for games and movies.

Image prompts let you use images to guide Midjourney in creating pictures. This feature works by placing a link to an image at the start of your prompt. You can use either two or one image, but text must follow them.
